REAL PEOPLE. REAL RESULTS.

Introduction To Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is an alternative (non-surgical) skin treatment first developed in 1952 by Michael Pistor (a French doctor) that helps restore skin elasticity, tone, hydration, and firmness, thus creating smoother skin. Tiny needles inject hormones, vitamins, and enzymes into the skin’s surface, which triggers increased collagen and elastin production. Collagen and elastin are critical in fighting most signs of aging, such as fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, and excess fat.

Mesotherapy, also known as ‘red-carpet facial’ can thus help:

  • Lighten your skin
  • Remove excess fats under the skin (and face)
  • Diminish age spots
  • Reduce/eliminate wrinkles and fine lines
  • Tighten and smoothen your skin
  • Improve skin hydration
  • Improve skin tone
  • Reduce cellulite
  • Treat common hair conditions, e.g., hair loss, alopecia, etc.

While mesotherapy effectively improves most signs of aging and skin conditions, the results may vary from one person to another. This is because our bodies are unique and respond differently to elements introduced into the skin.  It may thus take longer for some individuals to see results, while it will only be a matter of days for others. One mesotherapy session might, however, not be enough for this treatment method to work.

Are There Side Effects?

Mesotherapy is a walk-in, walk-out type of treatment.  Each session will thus last only a couple of minutes to an hour, depending on the procedure. With tiny needles, light bruising is expected on the skin, which should only take a few days to heal.  A concealer always helps hide the tiny bruises.  Some patients may experience slight swelling immediately after therapy. One of the best ways to prevent this is to avoid ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil supplements, and alcohol a few days before and after treatment.

Mesotherapy For The Face: What You Need To Know

We all desire to preserve youthful, smooth and radiant skin. Maintaining healthy, youthful, and radiant skin is an unending task, especially once we reach a certain age or are exposed to harsh elements or weather. Eating healthy and exercising might not be enough to prevent fine lines and age spots from appearing on your face. Luckily, mesotherapy for the face and neck provides a feasible solution for improvement.  When done professionally by an experienced aesthetician, mesotherapy can help restore firm, smooth, radiant skin without cosmetic surgery.

Mesotherapy treatment for the face is a straightforward procedure.  The first step is to book an appointment for skin analysis.  The doctor will also inform you of possible side effects at this stage. Should you choose to go ahead, the doctor will apply a numbing cream to the treatment areas.  It’s after the numbing cream has taken effect that the process will begin.  Multiple micro-needles are used to inject the compounds into the skin. These injections stimulate fibroblasts to produce more collagen and elastin. Increased collagen and elastin levels breathe fresh life into your skin, leaving you youthful and healthy skin/complexion.

Other benefits of mesotherapy include:

  • Improves skin hydration levels
  • Combats dry and dehydrated lips
  • Better looking lower mouth area

Mesotherapy For Hair

Mesotherapy for hair is a procedure to fight hair loss by stimulating increased hair growth. The process involves using micro-injections in the scalp area to introduce nutrients and active ingredients needed to stimulate hair follicles and increase growth.

Benefits Of Mesotherapy For Hair Loss
According to a study conducted in 2016 on a group of women on the effectiveness of mesotherapy hair treatment, more than 50% of the participants recorded up to 54% improved hair growth.  Although not much, it is proof mesotherapy is beneficial for hair growth.

Other benefits of mesotherapy include:

  • Deliver essential nutrients to the dermis layer: Mesotherapy accurately delivers required nutrients into hair follicles, stimulating fresh growth.
  • Stimulates hair follicles:  It helps trigger increased production of keratinocytes in the sebaceous glands. These are crucial for keeping the scalp moisturised and well-nourished for fresh and healthy hair growth.
  • Reduce scalp inflammation: mesotherapy effectively treats folliculitis, psoriasis, and dandruff, among other conditions linked to scalp inflammation.
  • Restores normal pH levels:  dirt, grime, and oil clog hair follicles, causing a pH imbalance. Mesotherapy helps restore pH to healthy levels.
  • Expunges lymphatic toxins: Accumulation of lymphatic toxins is the leading cause of hair thinning and hair loss. Mesotherapy helps flush these toxins out, leaving you with a healthy scalp.

Mesotherapy For Cellulite

Mesotherapy has proven to be quite effective in reducing stretch marks and cellulite. Many people also believe mesotherapy can help promote weight loss as well. With only natural and organic ingredients (vitamins, amino acids, and natural extracts), it is considered safe.  With the active ingredients delivered to skin cells and the dermal layer, there’s no room for skin cells to store body fats. This leaves you with less cellulite.

Mesotherapy is thus quite effective around:

  • The thighs
  • Love handles
  • Bottom
  • Double chin

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is mesotherapy suitable for my skin?

Mesotherapy is suitable for most skin types, especially those who are looking to brighten and deeply hydrate the skin. Those with active acne should discuss their treatment options with one of our aestheticians before doing mesotherapy treatments.

How many sessions of mesotherapy will I need?

We recommend starting with a course of 3 sessions of mesotherapy. At this point, we will do a review of your skin and determine the next best course of treatments. After this initial course of treatments, we generally recommend clients to come in every 3 months to maintain their results. This may determined by age, skin condition and the desired result.

How long after treatment will I start seeing results?

3 to 4 weeks after treatment, you will start observing:

  • The disappearance of many dark spots
  • Significant reduction in pigmentation
  • Overall improvement in skin tone and complexion
When will I see results with mesotherapy?

Results can be seen after the first session within 2- 6 weeks and will gradually improve over time as more sessions are performed.

Is there any downtime after mesotherapy?

Depending on the treatment delivery system, you may experience some redness and swelling for 24-48 hours after the treatment. This is localized to the area being treated.

It is imperative that only Mesoestetic Skincare be used during this time to achieve the best possible outcome and minimise the incidence of reactions.

You must complete the aftercare rejuvenation treatments in the Clinic as outlined with your aesthetician.
