MicroDermabrasion

Microdermabrasion buffs and polishes the skin using diamond crystals to achieve a healthy glow and helps alleviate fine lines, pigmentation, acne, dull and dry skin. It stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. It is also an excellent treatment to remove the rough skin of keratosis pilaris found on the upper arms and shoulders. 

Microdermabrasion is used either by itself or in conjunction with enzymes, AHA’s (alpha hydroxy acids), IPL (intense pulsed light) stimulation and LED (light emitting diode) treatments. How Microdermabrasion Works

A fine flow of crystals with applied vacuum suction results in a very gentle “sandblasting” of the skin, removing dead surface cells and clearing the pores of debris. Over time and in conjunction with AHA’s, enzymes, IPL and Light Emitting Diode technology, pigment fades away and surface irregularities, such as fine wrinkles and acne scars, begin to soften. Microdermabrasion is also an excellent addition to regular skin treatments to maximise the benefits of skin rejuvenation.

What to Expect

Treatment of the whole face takes about 30-40 minutes as a stand-alone treatment. There is no pain. The area treated may be pink for a day or two and can be surface dry. This is remedied by sloughing with gauze and toning lotion and good hydrating homecare.

Sloughing off the uppermost layer of the skin reveals a fresher and younger looking skin. Regular microdermabrasion sessions are perfect for keeping superficial lines to a minimum and maintaining a fresh, healthy complexion.
